He wanted to see if the patient REALLY saw anything, "out there". Being the person he is, he tried it out for himself, but unfortunately, when Wilson asked IF he saw anything, he stayed quiet and told him to shut up.

Dr. Gregory House was trying to experience what his patient was "feeling." Dr. House wanted to "see" if he could connect with the "being" that we all identify with as "God." This is why he wanted to seriously have empathy with his patient. This is the type of devoted "doctor" that any human being would appreciate. Peace, Love and God Bless.

I lost a lot when I switched back and forth and wondered why House was in a hospital bed! I am going to have to watch this episode when it airs on USA Network next Friday. I hate it when they air good shows at the same time! My VCR/TV doesn't allow you to watch and tape something else.

The patient talked about his afterlife experience and how wonderful it was. House didn't believe him and wanted to prove him wrong - or right
