Yes I do! I am an example of someone who loves both art and the study of religions.
Art-lovers are generally more open minded, and more open to abstract thoughts, well usually.

The term "cosmically aware" makes me cringe horribly. I also question your last assertion, since it is an overgeneralization that can apply to many, many groups, which disempowers it to a certain degree.
But to answer your actual question, I don't think that artists are any more "spiritual" than other groups; the difference lies in their open-mindedness, which leads them to considering a wider array of ideas than, say, an accountant would. That doesn't presuppose or even acknowledge a greater spirituality. And, of course, there's the whole relative can of worms you popped open by calling artists geniuses. But that would lead me on a diatribe that would leave us far outside of your query.

I disagree with your statement. When people live for another "fix" they are not deep thinkers, sensitive nor amazing people. The majority of artists have a problem with drinking or smoking the wrong thing or sniffing funny dust. This is true with singers, actors, writers and athletes.

I'd have to say, I think it is the other way around. People who are more in-tuned to the Creator are more creatively artistic, deep thinking, and sensitive.
