I've already asked this, but the "answers"
I got for my question were basically "who cares, I just do"
See for yourself : http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

Here's the original question :
I only am asking this to Christians whom think helping Israel is just, if you would still like to answer though you aren't whom
I am addressing you may answer the first five, the sixth is irrelevant to you.

Dear Christians whom think supporting "Israel" and Zionists is a Christians duty, may you answer these questions, please?
:

1) Who was the founder of modern political Zionism?

2) What were his religious beliefs?

3) What is the Jewish Orthodox view concerning Zionists and modern day "Israel"?

4) What percentage of Palestinians are Christian?

5) What language/s do they - ( the Palestine people ) speak?

6) *Why* do you think supporting "Israel" and the Zionists is a Christians duty?

Thank you!

*Note*
Just so you know I am a Jew and I have been to both Israel and Palestine.
I'd really appreciate it if you could answer all the questions, as that is what I am asking.
If you don't know some of them just write that you don't.
But please *try* to at least answer them.

Again thank you!

1 - Founder - Theodor Herzl...
2 - Zionist
3 - Jewish Orthodox view is in disagreement with modern day Israel i believe...
4 - 1-2% but not really sure...
5 - Arabic...
6 - Christians are asked to pray for Israel - we don't have to - some might feel it's their duty - there are a number of scriptures we can take our lead from - and some intercede when God's heart beat beats with theirs for the Jews - Israel to know their Messiah...
This is not the full and complete story - but hopefully i've answered some of your interest.

#3 Correction

It's the Jewish ultra-Orthodox view that is different, and only a small minority of them are anti-Zionist. For the most part, Orthodox Jews are very Zionist.

Just so you know.

Anyways, I'm not Xian I'm Jewish, but seeing as it's been a while can I answer?

1. Theodor Herzl.
2. He was secular.
3. Orthodox Jews are for the most part Zionist--there is a small minority that is not, in the ultra-Orthodox section. Mind you, they are a small minority. They believe that Israel should be and only can be a religious Jewish state mandated by Torah--since Israel is not that, it's run by apikorsim and shouldn't exist until the Messiah comes to straighten us out.
4. I think it hovers around 2%, but I think I am wrong.
5. Arabic
6. does not apply to me

And there is no such thing as a Messianic Jew.

Peace

oh i wish i had the information givento me tthe other day. there was Scruipture backing that we ARE to stand with Israel - the Jews being God's chosen people. i will try to remember to get that information and mark your question. there is a big rally coming up for just that!!

i have to admit - i don't really understand the difference between zionist and Israelies so forgive me.

being originally from the dearborn michigan area - the palestinians i knew were Christians. those where i'm living in the states now are too.

1 I dont know
2 N/A
3 It is varied. You have from conservative Gershon Salomon who wants to rebuild the Temple and keep the West Bank to liberal Rabbi David Rosen who could care less about the temple.
4. Im not sure of the percentage now , but I do know that most Palestinian Christians have been run out of Gaza and also out of the West Bank.
5. Arabic for the most part
6. We worship the same God. The only 2 true religions on earth are Judaism and Christianity. We support Israel because God first chose Israel to present himself to mankind and to preserve and deliver to mankind his holy word the Torah, and the Hebrew Prophets, Because God made promises to Israel, that have not yet been fufilled and we see these promises as also partly belonging to us, since we are grafted in to the root of Israel . I believe that God is using the Church (The bride of Christ) to bring Israel ( the wife of God) back to himself. And I believe that God is also using Israel to bring the Church back to himself. If you are a practicing Jew and believe that your Messiah is coming soon , you are correct. We Christians are also expecting our Jewish Messiah to come soon. The righteous Jew and the righteous Christian have this in common... They are both waiting for the Messiah, they are both obeying God's laws,
they both have a love for the land of Jacob , the city of David , and for Mount Zion. The main difference is .. Will it be the Messiah's first or second coming.? We shall see. Either way all those who love the God of Israel , obey his commandments, and hope in in his mercy and the coming Messiah shall not be ashamed....

For it is written...... Romans 11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

I do not know the answer to any of the questions, but I do think that if Israel exists than so should a Palestinian state. I feel that is the only way to find any real peace in this world

Would you be ok with telling me what tribe you are from? I was with the Messianic movement over 20 years ago.

Edit.
Many people that call themselves Jews have discovered that they are in fact Khazars and are non-semitic.

According to your book Yahweh gave Palastine to the decendants of Abaham. Thats jews and arabs. So why wont you accept that and live in peace with them and stop stealing their land and turning them into refugees for the rest of the world to feed??
Yahweh through all the northern tribes out, which means only the arabs have a god given right to live there, so who gave all your yidish mates the right to move in.??

YOU TELL US IF< OR WHY!! IT IS UNJUST!!! You give us some answers for a change! Read the 83rd Psalm,,,since Islam loves to quote KJV!!! YESHUA said,,,SALVATION IS OF THE JEWS! I see that you avoid the history of the ones involved here. Also, you can't change it! And you just WON"T get the answer you want. keep trying though.

I don't care about any biblical reference to protect Israel! I think she does a pretty good job on her own!
She is our ally, and backs us up when we need her! That is good enough for me!
As for the rest? I don't care!
