1 to 1 1/2 pounds per week is ok to lose. Anything more than that may not stay off. When you want to lose weight, you want to do it gradual. You didn't gain 10 or 20 pounds in a week, so trying to get rid of it that fast is very unhealthy. You can eat juat about anything, but in moderation. You need to remember to porportion (measure) everything. Read the label and see exactly how much a serving really is and measure it out. You will be amazed just how much we all overeat. For example, if you have 1 cup of healthy cereal like Cheerios and 1/2 cup of blueberries and 1/2 cup of 2% milk for breakfast, that is a great healthy and balanced meal. You should take a brisk 1/2 hour walk after a meal and that will burn calories as well as tone your muscles. Swimming is a great exercise also. Also drink at least 8 glasses of water every day.
Good luck to you!

first off, dont go crazy over 5 lbs., but just add a little more exercise to what you are doing...if you just want to lose 5 lbs. if you go to the gym once or twice a week and do some cardio for like half hour, you should be fine... ( best cardio machines are usually the bike, the treadmill, the olyptical, the ski machine, etc...) also, a known fact is that the slower you lose the weight the harder and longer it will take to put back on...if you lose it in a s few days or something, there is a good chance you will eventually ut it back on, so whatever exercise you do, make sure it is something that you can keep up with daily because once you stop or if you quit after the 5 lbs. there is a much greater chance of putting the weight right back on.

Losing weight is a simple equation: if you burn more calories than you eat, the weight will come off. Start off by estimating how many calories you burn each day using the calorie calculator http://straighthealth.com/pages/tools/caloriecalclb.html This will give you an idea of how many calories to eat. Healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week. To lose 1 pound per week you need to create a calorie deficit (burn more than you eat) of 500 calories per day. To lose 2 pounds a week, you have to double the deficit to 1000 calories per day. You can achieve this by eating less, exercising more or a combination of both.

Don't lose more than a pound a week. You want the weight loss to be stable. Go on a high protein, low carbohydrate diet, but keep the diet at medium fat because the mitochondria in the cells needs fat to burn calories. It is a myth that a low fat diet is a good way to lose weight.

i lost a lot of weight myself. If your not used to dieting or exercising very much, trying to lose a lot of weight in a short period of time can be very dangerous. But, also, picking up on healthy habits can help you drop weight quickly. I suggest a little jogging. More like trotting. It makes your body move a little more, and then start jogging. Good foods like vegetables and fruits. Drink a lot of water, and stay AWAY from red meat. You can replace meats with nuts, or just leaner meat. Crash dieting is very bad for your health, and your body can have a bad response.
But, water, jogging, and food low in sugar. (dont cut of all your sugar or you can put your body in shock)

i did weight watchers when i was 17 and i would lose on average 2.5 pounds a week. so dont worry. just do it the right way, eat whatever you want, just watch your portions. if you drink soda, drink diet. its worth 0 points (weight watchers). eat lots of fruits and veggies as snacks instead of other junk. make sure the meat you buy or eat is lean or extra lean. salmon is great too. replace butter by becel. or dont eat any of it. mayo buy light mayo. cream cheese by light cream cheese. eat low fat yogourt, and whole wheats (bread or cereal...) Corn on the cob is also good... hmmm what else... replace cofee by tea. and avoid fried foods all together. i promise youll lose the weight! good luck!
ps. i better get 10 points lol ;)

Try eating between 35-40 grams of fiber and keep up an active lifestyle. Be prepared for a little gas and more bowel movements. (Don't push farts! LOL)
Seriously though, up to 10 lbs in two weeks! I know, I have been on it for 2 weeks and have lost 10!
Fiber one cereal and bars will help you attain this high amount.
Good Luck!

I have REALLY long hair, and I think it would weigh about 2 pounds. Can you deduct your heavy hair? I am a 34DD and I don't deduct my breast weight from my overall weight, but I clearly don't care so much! lol My friend had a MASSIVE breast reduction from 36F to 34B and she only had 1.5 pounds taken out of each side (3 pounds total). So unless you're an F cup, I don't think you're carrying that much weight in your chest... Maybe you can cut your fingernails or just exfoliate REALLY well? lol

Losing it in 3-4 weeks would be better. Eat 1200 calories every day plus an additional amount of calories for when you exercise which I think that jogging is the best exercise.

It's pretty simple, eat less, exercise more. Eat more vegetable and fruits. Pasta and bread are filling but fattening so watch portions. Any exercise is good and will help. 2 lbs a week is what is demeaned as safe weight loss.
