Listen to what I think.. You are probably a Catholic or a Christian because your parents were, and you were raised that way-therefor, you believe that your religion is the correct one and the other ones are not real... But say you were raised as a Muslim, then you would believe that Christianity is not correct. Say you were raised worshiping a jug of milk? Then THAT religion would be correct... You see? God is fake.

Change my mind!

My Mom raised my 1 older sister and 2 younger brothers pretty much single handedly. We attended a Lutheran church til I was about 11 and a Baptist church since then. Out of the 4 of us children my sister has completely rejected Christianity. The yougest of my brothers does not attend church. My other brother and I are active Christians. One thing in common is that each one of us from what we have witnessed will admit that my Mother has a personal relationship with Jesus and that he is real. It is not from what we have been taught but a lot of how my Mother lived and some of the miracles we witnessed growing up. If my Mom worshipped a jug of milk I think that eventually we would have figured out what a nut she was. I think a big part of the religion a child chooses has more to do with the witness the parents are to their particular faith then what they teach the child verbally. One thing you will NEVER be able to convince me is that God is fake He is very much alive. Ultimately it is everyones individual choice who they choose to follow. You can't blame it on the parents once they are an adult.

well, actually, the decision to be christian was all my own... i was not born into a "church going" family, but they believed in God, as far as i know.... i wasnt educated a lot about religion as a kid, but i know there was never a time that i didnt know there was a God... when i was a teenager, my mother started attending church regularly, and sometimes i went, sometimes i didnt.. before i started attending church regularly, there was a span of about 5 years that i didnt attend any church, or have any fellowship, really...but thankfully, God opened our eyes, and led us to a church where we have grown as christians, and we believe the BIBLE and only the BIBLE is th true word of God... if i had never heard of God before, i think i could read the BIBLE, and know it was truth, if for nothing else, all the prophecy that is being fulfilled.. and has been fulfilled.

You would be right save for one fallacy on your part. Jesus fulfilled more than 300 prophesies during his time on earth. Many of these prophesies were written 800 - 1,000 years before he was born on earth. How about those apples?

Open your eyes and examine the Scriptures to see if they are true.

I can't change your mind. A Christian man once asked a prominant atheist: "If I could prove to you that Jesus exists, then would you accept him?" The atheist's answer was no. It's not that the existance of Jesus can't be proved, or it can't be proved that miracles occur in the name of Jesus, it is that some people just don't want to follow Him. They don't want to give up their life to someone who gave them life. it is pride that keeps them from Jesus, not evidence.
And for the record, I am not a Christian because my parents were. I am a Christian because I know what it is like to be without God and I know they peace and the hope I have with Jesus. God is real.

I shall not change your mind because you are correct. No muslims have visions of the virgin Mary for this very reason. Religion is mostly an accident of birth, nothing more.

Well, you do have a point there and I have heard many people say that if it was good enough for their parents it is good enough for them. Seems to actually fall short of an intelligent decision, but then, who am I?

Religion is faith and to say it's fake is being intolerant of people's faith.

If you don't believe in anything, then don't be a bigot.
