"Spiritual War"....?????

Have the Satanists been knocking on your door trying to draw you to "the darkside" ?

Why is it always you Christians who look at those who believe differently than you as enemies...and then declare "war" on them?

Go ahead, read the book. I bet you won't find what you think is in it.

By the way...you are aware that Satanism is derived from Christianity...aren't you? Only Christians believe in Satan, so Satanism could only have been born of Christianity! Another obvious fact that I'm sure your fellow Christian aren't willing to take responsability for either!

Blessed Be Our Earth Mother...and ALL Her Children!

Have a better day...tomorrow! ; )

Ok, the Satanists do not worship Satan. Maybe some forms do, but the Satanic Bible was written by Anton Lavey, and Laveyan Satanism is purely atheistic and praises Satan as a literary archetype with the right idea. It is, in my personal opinion, attention-seeking and a bit pointless, but if your holy war is against the devil worshipers, I suggest you begin somewhere else. If you wish to combat the big bad atheists, I suggest you take a few logic and science classes and brush up on your Darwin and Dawkins. The Satanic Bible is generally not where atheists turn when they need a bit of affirmation of their disbelief.

Spiritual war? What war is this? I didn't get a memo.

If you'd like to read The Satanic Bible, go right ahead. It's from Avon publishing and is available in most major book stores and quite affordable.

However, if you're looking for a book that follows your own mythology of God vs. Satan, or a book that supports the acts devil worshipers do in tacky horror movies, you'll be disappointed. The actual religion of Satanism, which is what The Satanic Bible is about, is a non-theistic religion based on man's true carnal nature, not the passed-down dogma of Christianity.

Oh, and there are no "different kinds of Satanists". Devil worshipers aren't Satanists. There was no actually religion called "Satanism" before the Church of Satan was formed in 1966, so we got dibs on the name. And this isn't a case of different sects saying "We're the right ones"; it's a case of people making a completely different religion on the most fundamental levels and calling it something it's not.

You have a freedom of religious expression in our country so you can look into this, but why? In my teens in an unchurched home I was tempted by occult studies and they have done me no lasting good. Honestly I recommend you put these temptations away. The spiritual war is already won though it is yet to be.

As a fellow Christian here is my honest opinion:

The reason you are using to justify reading something evil is false logic and self-deception on your part. To use an analogy, would you condone your wife having sex with other men in order to know how to deal with temptation and what is going on with adultery in her war against divorce?

Or what if an old boss of yours wrote out a really damning reference full of horrible lies and hurtful slander about you. Would you like your family and friends to read it, just so they could have a more balanced knowledge of you?

Knowledge does not always equate with truth. Be careful what you put into your mind.

God equips us more than sufficiently to fight and win the spiritual war. Everything we need to know about our enemy, that we can be sure is true, is in God's Bible.

If you are a real Christian, then you know you should not read it and you know all the reasons why.

I think you are looking for permission to do what you know is wrong through the justification of people's opinions on here.

To put it in a nutshell, there's an old Chinese proverb that applies here very well. It says: "Man who lie down with dog get up with fleas."

Have a look around the world today at SOME of what is happening to innocent children...
Abortion of live fetuses that then have to medically killed; rape of babies only weeks and months old in Africa under the belief that men can cleanse themselves of AIDS; orphaned babies and children being tied to beds and starved in war-torn countries; children as young as 3 being forced to work in slave labour camps in the Congo; girls as young as 6 being used for child pornography rings in America, UK, Europe, Australia; children of both sexes aged 12 and often younger forced to be prostitutes in Asia; boys as young as 8 being forced to kill and maim as child soldiers... child abuse of every sickening kind happening even as we argue with each other on here.

How much more do you need to know about "what is going on and what we are dealing with" in today's spiritual war???

I'm not Christian, just to let you know, but i still have an opinion on this so im posting it =) I personally enjoy studying all kinds of religions and cultures. Being ignorant is never a good thing. It would be good if you studied it that way you actually knew what you were talking about instead of going by what everyone at your church says (and if you enjoy knowing what you're talking about learn about others too =) )

A lot of Christians will tell you that you shouldn't read it, but there's nothing wrong with understanding where other people are coming from. What you'll be surprised to learn is that The Satanic Bible is based on Satan as a symbol and LaVeyan Satanists are atheists.

Now, if you'd like to research Satanists who actually believe in Satan as a deity, you can email me!

You don't have to believe but you should understand. Then you will know LaVey Satanism.

I am an eclectic Pagan and I read about every religion I can possibly make time for. By understanding other ideoligies it may better help you define your own. Good luck in your studies.
