Don't forget the population bomb. A 1968 book written by Paul R. Ehrlich predicting disaster for humanity due to overpopulation and the "population explosion". The book predicted that "in the 1970s and 1980s hundreds of millions of people will starve to death", that nothing can be done to avoid mass famine greater than any in the history, and radical action is needed to limit the overpopulation.

Now it is global warming that requires radical action. Ho hum.

Good question and good answer!
(Seems like dumb questions get dumb answers, too!)

Now somebody answer: "Who benefits by creating a crisis?"

I think the real issue is influencing how we think, spend, vote, and what rights we are willing to give up. Who do we give power to in all this? And why do they want power?
