How do you view respect?

Diana - I hope that "definition" does not mean that a person's integrity does not factor in with respectability. Breaking an oath is not a sign of integrity. Although I do agree that respect is something that should be earned.

I agree with you that the Mysteries are not to be disclosed if you have sworn not to reveal them.

This being said, if the teachings can be found elsewhere (in another tradition which is NOT oath-bound) I would be less concerned than if not.

You are right though, it IS a matter of respect. And I personally agree with you, a Witch and/or Pagan is only as good as their word. That is one of the reasons that I will not do readings here -- in my religion, the mantic arts are not simply "entertainment" and the mantic gifts are held as sacred -- if I failed to treat my abilties as a reader as a sacred trust, I would be violating Oaths I swore to MY Gods.....
