If its made of canvas, it may not be the best option to buy on the new jeep here in Illinois. Is it more for warm weather area's? Whats it made of? It looks like tent fabric. Would you get it on your jeep if you were buying one?

Well, since Benjamin so thoroughly copied from the Jeep website, I guess there is no need for a Jeep Sales Professional like myself to answer.

What he described is accurate. Using tried and tested Wrangler soft top technology, we have incorporated the same convertible fun in a Liberty.

Go for it.

it is made of a reinforced acrylic fabric. as that it is waterproof. according to jeeps website, it is reinforced and a rather thick material. keeping noise down, and is rated for a top speed of 85 miles an hour. The top retracts back and folds up on itself. it also has some safety features on it in case your dog or kid gets caught in it that will cause it to stop from closing on them. noise is supposed to be as quiet as a normal hard top liberty. It also has reinforced crossbows and cross beams in the top to help stop would be thieves. Normally i am not a convertible person. but if i were in the market for a liberty i like this although honestly i dont think i would pay much more over the non open top liberty.

yes, but last i heard they have halted production on it due to some design flaws. it would be a great thing to buy if you are a short timer, only keep your vehicle for a couple of years and trade off, but i would never buy it if i were planning on keeping the vehicle for an extended period of time. the canvas will wear out over time just like a wrangler soft top. can you imagine what that would cost?
