Created by illicit activities namely the moonshine industry. They only have to turn left. Safest of the racing genres, everyone is in rush hour traffic nearly the entire race, trading paint is about as scary as bumping the guy in front of you at autotopia in Disneyland with a makeshift seatbelt. You don't have to be in great shape, see Tony Stewart. You can sleep for two hours in the middle of a race wake up and not miss much. F1 is far superior to Nascar as far as racing is concerned. Prove to me Nascar is a sport I don't see it.

Influx of other drivers? $ bottom line is why they are coming. Genious marketing, inferior product. Schumacher would destroy every last one of these Nascar guys.

Did you know that Basketball used to be played on shag carpeting until somebody lifted up the corner one day and discovered beautiful hardwood floors underneath?

What's up with askers like yourself and the turning left thing anyway? In Basketball they only run left to right as well as football, hockey etc. Baseball runs in a circle.
Every other sport is played on the same old grid every weekend.
Racing and Golf are the only SPORTS that play on a whole new and refreshing course every single weekend. Think about that.

F1's ok but it doesn't excite me like stock cars do. If you like it then watch it.

.....As far as Nascar being a sport, that same question with people like yourself has been done over so many times nobody really cares to answer it anymore.

Since you like F-1 lets see what former champion Jacque Villeneuve has to say about Nascar.

These are his words not mine:

"It does feel more like ‘racing’ in NASCAR, and you don’t feel like you’re on the hot seat the whole time,” Villeneuve said. “And there is a lot more openness here, they talk openly about everything. And I think that is great. They seem very welcoming to newcomers.

What would you say to your F-1 fans as to why they should follow you to Nascar?
Villeneuve: "Why? Because it's good racing. If they followed me in F1 and enjoyed it, they should enjoy this show because the racing is amazing -- and it happens every weekend."

"It's a big, professional racing series where the competition is amazing and they run very close to each other. I've spent many years where once you get to the race, you kind of know who will finish where and there's very little action during the race. That's not the case with NASCAR, so that makes it very exciting."

Montoya has said similar things also.

As more and more open wheel drivers move to Nascar and bring some of their fans, people like you with their holier than thou attitude will have to change their tune. Current Nascar drivers will do well against the "greatest" and the world will witness that. The truth will prevail soon. F-1 as a series is going to have world wide competition soon.

Is snowmobile racing a sport? Is motorcycle racing a sport? Is boat racing a sport? Is drag racing a sport? Yes NASCAR racing is a sport. It's categorized under Motorsports. It kinda makes you wonder if playing with a ball is a sport.

dont like it dont watch and dont ask really ignorant questions here. People that love the sport and it is a sport do not need to defend it. Maybe we dont think golf is a sport, or basketball...we dont knock the folks that like it, we just dont watch.
Put your butt in a nascar and see what you bounce off of
