Faith is a person's belief system.
If someone believes murder is a sin and will cause them to go to hell, much less prison, they will not commit murder. In that sense, faith is also a behavioral modification system.
The lines blur when faith says to a believer to do things that the law does not allow. For example, a Jew taking literally Moses' command to "suffer not a witch to live." If Orthodox Jews went around killing witches, there would be no Neo Pagans left.

Faith is not an opinion. It is a belief in something and trusting it will come through. In a religious sense, it is a trust in God and what He will do for you. Yes, faith does change from person to person, and it needs no proof. If someones says he or she has faith, then he or she does. What would need proof is that person claiming God "came through" for him or her.

Well there's two kinds of faith. You can have faith in your family, because you know them, or think you do, and can trust them in the future. Youc an have faith in yourself, who knows yourself better than yourself.

Then there is blind-faith, which is just believing in something with absolutely no reason to. It can be pink unicorns, flying pigs whatever. A person just thinks of an archetype, like many religions have, and people believe in it. That is not faith, it is blind-faith.

Faith, in the context of your question is very real. It exists within the person who has it.

That doesn't necessarily mean that by extension, the thing that they have faith in is in fact true, - just that they believe it to be true without the benefit of any evidence.

Faith is the knowledge that something is going to happen because you have seen it happen before, for example I have faith that i will wake up tomorrow morning because I have woken up every previous morning. Blind faith is when you believe without seeing or truly knowing.

Faith is the belief in something that doesn't exist, like god, heaven, hell, soul, afterlife. If these things did exist, then they could be proven.
