They should've turned down the London trip. The road trip was tough enough flying around w/o tossing in London in the mix. Fooking Buttman!!

I mean really if anything they should've palyed against either the Sens or Red Wings. The only reason the Kings got to go is b/c some idjit King dude owns the O2 arena and
A game between two of the original 6 would be great too.

It's 50% Buttman's fault for pulling the idea out of his ___
Samueli is 50% to blame too.

It should be TBL vs NY Rangers for the Czech thing. At least it'd make sense b/c Jagr is Czech.

I'm not making excuses for them past the Detroit game.

Don't blame Bettman, Samueli volunteered his team to do this.
Lubers, the game in Detroit was originally rescheduled from a later date. Due to other changes in the Red Wings schedule, this game was moved from mid-season to an open date which just happened to be opening day. In the first draft of the schedule, Anaheim was to play in Columbus as it's first North American game

Sounds like excuses to me. Maybe you could blame the London trip on the Detroit game (maybe), but how long can we really ride the "we had to go to London" teardrop express?
Fact is, your 3 best players (Selanne, Giggy, Nieds) are not in the lineup so far this season. If you took away any teams 3 best players, how would they do? That, to me, sounds like a little bit more legitimate reasoning in comparison to this "2 week jet lag" thing that I am hearing from Duck fans.

Jenni-
Its early. The Ducks will get it going. They need JS in net.and Scotty back. They will get on a run,and play well again. It was nice to see the Cup holders go and represent the league.
However I think the whole idea was rather pointless.Nice for the Brits to see the NHL but what about a US or Canadian start to the season instead. Then later on in the year do a road trip.

I was surprised to see that not only did the Ducks do the traveling in the first place, they were scheduled to play their second game back in the states prior to the first game by many teams that didn't play in England. I know they have certain restrictions based on other arena commitments, but I would have thought they could have had a little more adjustment time.

I would say don't worry, but I live here in NC (transplant) and witnessed the Canes get off to a similar sluggish start last season, and we know how that turned out. The London thing was stupid, but remember that by winning the cup, a team sacrifices a long off-season to recover from injuries and such. I think they will be ok.

LOL!!! I agree with you... why did Gary "Buttman" choose two Californian team to go promote the NHL in Europe instead of closest team such as Montreal Canadiens or a NY team?? Two of the original six by the way!!!
No! That idiot (Bettman) would be able to send the Phoenix Coyote and the Nashville Predators to promote the NHL in Russia!!!
