As stated before, you could try a car fax, but they are not worth the paper they are printed on. A Carfax report gets it's info from other sources. Read their disclaimer, and you will see. The best way to verify salvage history is to get a vehicle report form the state DMV office, in which it it registered. Hopefully it will have spent it's life in one state. This will still not guarantee that any vehicle has not been wrecked or etc. Only what has been reported. Just because a vehicle has a salvage title, does not mean that it is a piece of junk. I have seen salvage titles issued, because of hail damage.

You can go to CarFax download a history report. But all that aside, DO NOT BUY A CAR WITH A SALVAGE TITLE. You will not be able to sell it again and you would be taking a huge risk on maintenance and system failure.

carfax.com buy a unlimited report for 30 days (29.99) it will tell you how many owners, how many miles it was driven per year. If it has any branded titles (salvage, rebuilt etc.) and if it was in any wrecks along with the case number which you can purcahase at the dmv i believe.
