Both Adorama and BHPhotovideo sell used cameras. Also try eBay and Craigslist.

I DONT KNOW as I have a digital Cannon SLR. The answer to your question is it should do as other companies make cheaper lenses which will fit a Nikon, ie Tameron. I had a Pentax 35mm and a Vivitar lens, it fitted my Pentax P30 but when I up graded to an auto focus Pentax Z20 even though it was a zoom lens and not auto focus it did not fit even when you could change the camera to manual focus. IF you are taking up photography as a hobby I surgest you go digital because the different film speed available for 35mm are getting less, and didital cameras have come down a lot in price since they first came out. Good luck, but never take advice from photo mags as they are sponsered by camera companies.........................

EBay is where I got my last 3 DSLR cameras. My local Craigslist is where I got my last couple of lenses.
If you're looking for Nikon, Cameta Camera on Ebay sells new & demo officially imported cameras with full warranties.
The advantage of your local Craigslist is you can meet the seller and try out the camera or lens before paying.
You might also check Adorama and KEH for used camera & lens deals.
