If you take it out, there's a chance that she'll continue to lay more eggs to try and replace the one that went missing.
Do NOT take it out. Or if you do, replace it with something to fool her into thinking it's the same egg.
If you take the egg out, and repeats laying eggs, it will be hazardous to her health. She'll be depleted of calcium, and there's a chance she could produce a soft egg and be unable to pass it.
I'd say to play it safe, and let the egg stay there, or replace it with something else. It's not fertile, it won't hatch. No harm done.

Sometimes other female budgies get jealous or territorial over a nesting box, and will 'throw' the other females eggs out. A good way to solve this is to put the female and the male partners in a smaller cage, and attach the breeding box to the cage, covering the door, keep them in the cage until the babies grow feathers and release with your other budgies.

If you don't want your bird to lay eggs or if she's laying too many eggs, an avian vet can give her a hormone shot to stop her laying that will last for about 9-12 months. You can help discourage her from laying by limiting the amount of light she is exposed to to 8 hours per day. Keep the room she's in a little bit cooler than normal. You want to simulate wintertime versus the warmer/longer days of spring. You also need to convert your keet to a better diet...all seed is poor...high in fat, low in nutrition. Poor little birdie. Why does it bother you to let her sit on her egg? When it becomes apparent even to her that it isn't going to hatch, she'll forget about it and you can remove it. Until then, she is going to be vicious about protecting the egg. Hormone shots sound like a lot of expense to stop something completely natural from happening.

Allow her to sit on it for a few days, she will get bored and forget about it. if you take it away to soon it may cause her to lay more. You can also buy fake eggs and replace real for fake that doesn't always work though.
You can get her injected with a hormone that will stop the egg laying but its not a forever fix, she will need them forever an dthey are costly.

YOU CANT STOP HER FROM LAYING EGGS. THEY WILL DO THAT EVEN WITHOUT A MALE,OF CORSE IT WONT BE FERTILE. JUST GRAB IT QUICKLY,IF YOU HAVE TO USE A GLOVE THAT WAY WHEN SHE BITES YOU FOR TAKING HER EGG IT WONT HURT AS BAD.

Just reach in and take it quickly. You cannot stop them, this is what they do.. It's kinda like how humans have a period.
