I absolutely respect people's right to say anything they want about "my" deity. If anything, it saddens me that they don't perceive God in the same way that I do, but I would never dream of trying to censor them or take away their rights.
After all, what can they say that has not already been said of and to Christ? Yet Christ received their scorn even unto death, and said only, "Father forgive them for they know not what they do." Who am I to do anything but follow Christ's example?

In the United States at least, people have a right to say anything they want to say about any topic including God...in fact, I'd argue that free speech is a fundamental human right even though some countries choose to censor speech.
I certainly don't like it when people say thoughtless or degrading things about my God but if I tried to deny their right to their opinions, I would be denying my own right to say what I think and believe. As long as I am free to walk away, a person isn't violating my rights by stating an opinion even when that opinion is contrary to my own.

.Well, it's much worse for the Christian who does that, but no....no one has the right to degrade or insult the living God of all creation. Just because someone doesn't believe doesn't hold them any less accountable.........thus there is hell. Whether you believe or not, God demands respect. He is the Lord of all. Maker of heaven and earth. He not only can take your life, but He can destroy your soul. He is to be revered. Of course, He gives us free will now..........but, there comes a pay day.

I don't say degrading things about god. I may question him and I have no belief in him. Why degrade something I have no belief in? And we do have free speech. If someone does want to, that's there right, but not very nice.

Of course. People can say whatever they like. I'm a Christian, but people do have the right to slam my beliefs, my deity, or anything else they like. It's called "freedom of speech". However, I also have a right to issue a rebuttal if it bothers me enough.

That happens all the time. Of course I uphold their right to their opinions, even if I don't agree with them.
I come on here on R & S, saying that God is love and you can't read the bible literally, and gay people are going to heaven, and if you judge other people you're sinning... and the fundamentalists try to shut me up all the time. They tell me my God is wrong and their god is right.
I'm not saying they can't or shouldn't do it. I'm just pointing out that's what they do.

Everyone has their free agency. If they wish to degrade God...or say insulting things...then they can. I just don't have to say around and listen to it...and I have every right to ask them to stop around me. I respect thier right to say what they think and feel...but they should respect my right to disagree with them and not want to listen to it.

Of course. I believe like Voltaire did.
Besides, God can handle it.

God is God no matter what you say of Him. Blasphemy is the only unforgivable sin, it is serious.
