No it isn't. Don't think so highly of yourself to assume they could do no better than you. If you don't love them set them free to find someone who does. It will hurt in the short term, but they will be much happier in the long run.

Only if you enjoy being a martyr and you don't have a problem doing without your own happiness. You can't help anyone with pity, because with pity there's usually a lack of respect. Think about it. It's a no win situation. Do yourself and this person a favor and move on. They will survive or they wont, either way it's not your responsibility to sacrifice yourself for someone you don't love.

well it depends.
well first off it isnt right i dont think.
And it depends when you put it like "nothing" as in what? be specific..
if its like living on the streets nothing then it cud be right but then again not. to hold onto someone who is holding u back from doin the things u want to do. even if this person has nothing..
they will find someone. u can always still be there friend.
cuz if ur just doing this becuz this person has nothing..
and if u dont feel for that person..
and never tell this person
u might break his or her heart later. so i say leave him.. and explain how u feel to him

A pity relationship never works out well. If someone has no one but you then that's an issue that they need to deal with. If you stick around out of an attempt to rescue them you'll just wind up resenting them.

Wow, that is pretty emotionally intense scenario. There must be real love in an relationship, and at some point the lack of it will doom what you mention.

No this is not right even though you don't want to hurt this person more but if this person find out by him/herself than they might take it wrong and think that everyone hates them. plus they might not know it but there is always someone out there for everyone! Its better to tell them now instead of letting them find out by them selfs.

Wow, you must be with my x-hubby! LOL!
No, really, I was married to him for 7-1/2 years up till he became mentally and physically abusive. But for years I stayed with him because I felt bad for him. He really didn't have any friends, just family. After he became abusive, we divorced. I see him now and then with his girlfriend (fiance), and he's doing fine. So, whatever your reason, they will move on.

No, it's unfair to both parties. You aren't responsible for who they have in their life, they are. You are doing a disservice to youreself AND to them, by not wanting to be there.

NEVER settle. They will find someone else if they desire to...
