Instead of letting a Pagan Deity deliver toys to the kids?
I would have thought you would be better off spending the day sacrificing goats and doves (as your god seems to like so much.) in honer of him sending his son for you.

Or is that what the xmas barbeque is all about?

It is exactly what the xmas bbq is all about, eating all the creatures that god created if your beliefs are so inclined. Nothing better than pig and potato, or pig and shrimp done with soy sauce or pig on bread with a thick layer of butter. My mouth has just started salivating with all that typing about food. I wonder if god came to earth and a cannibal ate him would that cannibal become god by default?

remember that when Jesus was born, he came to get rid of the need to use the blood of innocent animals to cleanse our sins by offering his own blood as the ultimate sacrifice. It would really be quite the insult to act as if all he did was for naught. "I love you Jesus, but your death just isn't going to cover it for me" ?? Yeah right.

And Santa Claus is really a big bedtime story like The Grinch That Stole Christmas and all the others. I was never taught that Santa actually existed, and neither were my Christian friends. We knew the story of course, but we weren't raised to believe in it.. or the Easter Bunny or the Tooth Fairy. stories are stories.

and they think the Christians are uneducated...get some knowledge before you start slamming other people's religions.

Nope - Bible says animal sacrifices are over now that Christ has been sacrificed for us. So let's celebrate!

Heb 9:12 He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, having obtained eternal redemption.

Heb 10;19-21 Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.

I sacrifice enough money at Christmas without buying a goat or dove which I don't particularly want to eat.

It is a sweet savor unto the lord. Don't forget to put blood at the foot of the altar, on the horns of the altar, and the rest in the basin at the bottom of the altar.

I love Leviticus.
