Ummm...that would be Appalachian Trail...and yes, dogs are allowed on the trail. Certain parts of the trail require you to leash dogs (places where the trail goes through National Parks, State Parks, Towns, etc.) but many thru-hikers take their pets.

The only notable exception is the 100 Mile Wilderness of Maine. I have heard rumors that dogs are not allowed through this stretch of the trail, but I think it is only a rumor.

Best check wit the Appalachian Trail Conservancy for an exact anwser.

of course they are. that would be like saying animals aren't allowed on it. and there is tons of wilderness out there. yes, dogs are definitley allowed on it!!
