(wheter you believe its from human activities or a natural cycle, the Earth is heating), how many more years do we have until the planet is not inhabitable by human? I asked my Technologies teacher and all he says is, "In your lifetime, not mine."

Millions if not billions. The Earth has heated and cooled many, many times in it's history.

Not long ago the ice cap was over a mile thick over New York City. Norway is still gaining hight every year, springing back because it no longer bears the weight of the polar ice.

It's melted to it's current position, and some day in the future it will be back covering Canada.

The planet will never become uninhabitable by humans from global warming. There is simply not enough carbon trapped in all the coal and oil in the world to put enough carbon dioxide into the air to change the climate any where near enough to make Earth uninhabitable. Oil and coal would run out LONG before it could go that far. The worst that could happen is that over the next 100 years we use up all the oil in the world and over the next 500 years we use up all the coal in the world and the climate gets a little warmer. But not any warmer than it was in the time of the dinosaurs, when there was no ice at the poles. Then that added carbon dioxide will be slowly removed by geological processes (not trees) over the next 100,000 years or so and the climate will cool to reform the polar ice caps. During the warm 100,000 year period people will be fine.

The Earth is as likely to become uninhabitable because of a coming Ice Age as from global warming.

Scientists have recently learned the global surface temperature record is fouled up because of poorly sited weather stations. The exact amount of the artificial warming bias has not yet been determined. It may be that up to one-half of the observed warming is not real, but an artifact of these poorly sited stations. You should take a look at some of the photographs of these stations. They are positioned on top of parking lots!

BTW, if you are concerned about the ice melting in the Arctic Ocean, do not be concerned. The Northwest Passage opened in 1905 and 1944. Both times the sea ice came back the following year. About 60 ships made the passage during the 20th century. This is nothing new.

The Earth won't become uninhabitable. But, if global warming continues to increas (and, just to ruin your day--the rate is not steady, it is accelerating) we will see severe coastal flooding and climate changes. Conceivably, enough to bring down our civilization.

How long to we have? That--we don't know. Based on the rates of warming from 5 years ago--at least 50-80 years. With the pattern of acceleration of warming (assuming it continues to accelerate) perhaves no more than25-30.

Fortunately, contrary to the "deniers" there is no "debate"--the human causes are fully certain. That means we can fix the problem. Whether we willl or not, of course, remains to be seen.

Considering Global Warming happens every 1,500 years, the earth won't be inhabitable because of it. Did the whole world die in the Middle Ages when they had a warming period AKA Global Warming? (It was hotter than it is now.) I don't think so. Global Warming is a natural thing that isn't as threatening to us as Al Gore is telling us. Besides, for years he has been say that in ten years the earth will be like such and such. He continuously says ten years...and he's been preaching this for many, many years. I think time must have stopped in his head....

He is only taking female humans and animals on the Ark. Go Al Go ! Save the planet oh great Al. Al Al he's our man, if he can't do it no one can ! He will also take Barney Frank.

Well Jesus is coming soon to take all his believers up to heaven so I think we'll be gone by the time the earth reaches its hottest.
