I just gave my dog the pill 2 hours ago but i want to give him a bath. Will the bath ruin the affect of the pill? Its a flea control shampoo too.

No, it won't affect the action of the pill. But, flea bathing is not a good idea - flea shampoos don't work.

Capstar is good, but it doesn't prevent fleas. To do this, you need a spot-on from a vet, and don't bathe the dog before or after applying it (within 48 hours) or it won't work. Don't waste your time with flea shampoos, they're not good stuff. Get some Frontline or the like from a vets.

Capstar is a pill that delivers a deadly poison directly into your dogs blood stream so that when fleas bite your dog they get a healthy dose of poison and they die. Isnt that cool how you can poison your dog to kill a bug..( Insert rolling eyes here)
Anyway, a bath is not going to hurt anything or effect the Capstars working ability. The poison is IN your dog, not ON him, it is not something you can wash off. The liver will have to quickly try to process the poison and flush it from your dogs system which generally happens in 48 hours or so they say.. The long term effects of Capstar have not been studied. No one wants to know the truth I guess about how poisoning your dog could effect their health in the long run.

Not sure why the thumbs down. I stated facts directly from Navartis website about Capstar. I was not making stuff up. The drug maker themselves says Capstar delivers a powerful poison to your pets blood that kills fleas once they get a bite of the poisoned blood!

It's not a good idea to use more than one form of flea control at a time. It might overload your dog's system. It's probably ok to give a regular bath but don't use a flea shampoo. They don't work, anyway.
