I consider myself to be nothing without Christ! Why, because I still remember what he has delivered me from. I know that I am truly predistined to be conformed to be like him. Thank God he says, He will complete the goodwork he started in me. "He will" "complete" the "good work" he has begun "in me." Did you catch that, He is saying it is "His Will," to "Complete (perfect)" "His Work" in lil' ol' me.
Praise God \o/
God knows how to cause (Agape) Love to flourish. Amen. :) Here's a good question to ask ourselves, "Do you hear the Lord's voice?"
He says, my sheep hear my voice.
I can honestly say, I do. It's important to get saved and have a relationship with you Savior, Father and Friend. The Holy Spirit will teach you what you "need" to know by guiding you into all of his Truth. Amen. Please give the Lord your life, if have'nt done so already, I promise you will never be the same!
Well God Bless you Needanewstart, as before, great question!
in Christ,

It dosent matter wether or not you are a good person Jesus died to cover all sins not just the major ones like killing, stealing, or the commandments and stuff, but there is alot more sins that you have committed wether flicking some one off, cusing, porn, mastrubating(most denomonations), making fun of some one but yeah there a whole load of stuff that are sins and Jesus died for them all but as a catholic i belive that its no free ride in. you have to do your part, you cant go "oh im saved ill go have an affair with some women that my wife dosent know about."
so basically yes you do still need Jesus in your life because without Jesus you have nothing. If you decide to go on without Him so be it its your choice and i cant do anything about it.
you could be walking on the street and yell out to the croud all im so good i do all my homework and i dont drink im unmarried and im a virgin and ive never gotten addicted to smoking or achool or marjunia or coocaine and oh im some one to look up to.
Well dont do that thank God your like that and I may be off the point here but the personality i described is kind of what you said "If you are already good in yourself Jesus did not die for you" is like saying im so good i dont need Jesus and that CANT be true.
Now im probably a little off topic but this answer is how i interpret your question. The story i described is taken from the parable of the Pheorcy and the tax collecter except revised by my bible teacher and I threw some stuff in. heres the whole stroy in case you want to read the rest
you could be walking on the street and yell out to the croud all im so good i do all my homework and i dont drink im unmarried and im a virgin and ive never gotten addicted to smoking or achool or marjunia or coocaine and oh im some one to look up to.
Now there may be a 16 year old behind you and she may be thinking "I'm sixteen and I have a addiction to smoking(no offense to smokers im thinking of things like marajunia), and she is pregnant and the reason she is pregnant. The reason she is pregnant is because she was addicted to achool and just got out of rehab. If they both choose Jesus they both are christains, but if the girl asks Him for forgiveness she is more justified than the righteous man for she saw the wrong in her life and wanted to correct it. (may be a little away from Jesus' parable) if i can udate this ill give you a scripture refrence.
So again put your faith into Jesus now matter how good of a christain you are.

God said there is not one GOOD. We all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Everyone that plans to be in heaven, plus have a good life right here on earth needs the saving power of Jesus Christ. And yes, we must love unconditionally and forgive, but even with all of that, if Jesus is not your own personal saviour, you will be lost. You cant be good in yourself. Any good we have comes from God, even when we dont know it.
Great question, as usual.

If there is a God and Jesus is real, why do we need Him? And why can't all people go to heaven? Isn't being good or sincere sufficient enough to get me to heaven?
To answer these questions, we must answer others first. Is man inherently good? That is, does he have a good nature? Or is God in all people? Does God favor some people over others? Do we have a free will? To answer these questions we must turn again to the Bible. We need to see how God created man, what happened to him, and what is his relationship to God and eternity.
When God created Adam, He created Adam to serve God and have communion or relationship with him (Gen 3:8-9). Not as a slave. But as a husband-wife relationship (Eph5:31-32) or like a son and Father (Rom8:15-16), or even as friend to friend (John15:13-14). But the relationship of God to Adam was not forced upon him without choice. Yes God is God, yes God is Lord, but God is good, merciful and loving. God even commanded Adam. Does a father command his child to stay off the street for his own safety? So God commanded Adam to not eat from the Tree of Knowledge. But God left the choice to Adam whether to obey or not. God did not want a robot to serve and love Him. What value is love if there is no choice. But the value of love becomes precious when what can leave, does not, because it chooses to stay. So God commanded Adam to not eat of the Tree of Knowledge but was allowed to eat all else.

The proverb is speaking of what occurs in this life, not the next. All of us think we're good, since we all have that pharisaical streak in some measure, due to our desperately sinful state. So, no, we Christians are forgiven for eternity regarding some things in which we believe that we are justified in thinking and/or doing, but aren't. This is what is so wonderful about the graciousness of our God and Father.

The BIBLE refers that all have sin and come short of the glory of God.Underline ALL that means all mankind have sin against God, wether you are good or bad person, so everybody need Jesus to be redeemed from sins.

i really don't understand your analogy - sorry. stealing is wrong and becuase someone is misguided into thinking they can take whatever they want becuase they want it - they are wrong.
if you are a good person only and feel you don't "need" Jesus - why worry - when you die you will be dead. HEaven is there for those who understand and accept. i don't understand why people think "i'm a good person and will get to heaven" when they don't know Jesus. guess what "good people" heaven is the palace of Jesus/God. if you don't know Him - you will not know heaven. how can you get invited to someone's home when yu don't know of accept that they are - truly are.

Yes, without Him we would all be lost. We need Him to be saved from God's wrath. There is no escape without Jesus, no matter how good you are.

No you don't because Jesus was a prophet only, he wasn't God himself. God is outside of man made religion, it's rules and rituals. You don't need to be saved. Being a good person is enough because life is eternal anyways for everybody regardless of beliefs or lack of.
