The Spanish made them religious, the English made them poor, and the French made them omelettes.


(But really, you're asking for a twenty-page paper to answer this question properly...it's not something someone will do here, in my opinion. Books have been written about this, and there are tons of articles online that you can look at.)

I don't know how you want to use the information to attack the French and Spanish policies. However, the Spanish and French influence in the colonies of both North and South America was primarily Catholic, while many of the English were Protestants.
