I'm in 10th grade, I really like this girl and she says she likes me back, but it's only in private that she'll even hold my hand (not even in front of our family members or friends). She's gotten better, she now talks to me in front of other people. She can't date until her next birthday but I hang out with her all the time at her or my house. Why won't she even hold my hand or give me a hug if we're not completely alone? Is it something I did?

No it's not something you did. Some girls just like to keep those things private. Some guys even like to keep those things private. If she won't even talk to you in public then maybe you should talk to her about it, but if it is just showing signs of affection (holding hands, hugging, kissing) then it isn't you. Some girls just prefer to do those things when you guys are alone.

You have to understand that not everyone is comfortable with displays of affection much less public ones. It appears your love interest falls in that group.If you add shyness and the fact she can't date until her next birthday, she might also be afraid of offending her parents.While it is not something you have done(unless there is something you have not said), you might have to be patient or accept the possibility that she is not the demonstrative type.At least, everything seems to indicate that she has feelings for you. For now , just enjoy things as they are until they can be improved upon. I wish you both the best.

no this is compleatly normal. i used to be this way just because i was shy. now that im around different people i realized it dont matter what people think adout the person i date so maybe she will get over it. and maybe its because she dont want anyone thinking u guys are dating if shes not suposed to date till her next birthday.

I think she's just shy. Or she may be going along with the rule that she can't date yet. It doesn't sound like something you did. I'm sure that she'll get better with time.

dis is common maybe shes trying to be a role model for siblings or keeping a promise with her parents
and if not she's simply just using you to get some action(srry but im very blunt)

she's not allowed to really date so she prob thnks that if she hugs or holds ur hand it will look too "lovey dovey" like shes with u or something n that may get her in trouble

its not you. its her. public displays of affection disturb her a little. hey you'd be nervous too if every one kept staring at you when you two kiss.(unlike her, most people get over the stares)
