Your dog is so young and could get worse. If you don't have cash for a vet, you should not have to dog! Harsh to hear and I hate saying it. I worked in a shelter for years and have seen first hand how fast young animals can succumb to upper respiratory infections. If she is eating and drinking she most likely will recover fine. If she came from a shelter or pet store they may be able to help with your bills. Don't use any humane meds on her, it could kill her. Try taking her in the bathroom while you have a hot shower to help her breathing. Make sure she eats a very good quality food, but with no money I wonder if you can afford it. If she stops eating or drinking or gets worse you need to give her up to a good shelter or rescue. If you can't afford it, you need to do what is best for her. This puppy needs more then you can give right now, and maybe you should get a dog later when you are able to pay for vet insurance and everything else that she needs.

If she was a human, what would you do? Taking her to the vet right now is less troublesome than not knowing what's wrong with a sick puppy.

I guess you will just have to wait and see what happens but a lot of times if a pet gets kennel cough they will get over it in a couple of weeks. You really need to call around and see if a vet will let you make payments. It is not fair to the puppy to suffer. No home remedies... No one here knows whats wrong so any suggestions should be discarded as they could be more harmful then good since there is no diagnosis.

You find money for the vet. Call the vet clinic ask about setting up a payment plan, ask about Care Credit.
Your dog needs a vet. If none of the above options are good enough then surrender the dog to a rescue where it will get the medical treatment it needs.

call the humane society, they offer free or reduced clinics or can refer you somewhere that has free clinics. Don't screw around with your pets health, would you for a child? It's important to get the right remedy and not to take chances
Although it does not sound too serious, it is best to see a professional, try the humane society or the ASPCA or look on line, also some small towns have vets working on a sliding fee scale!

Atleast call the Vet and ask some questions. Also go to the website below and maybe that will help you pay for the Vet Bill.
Good Luck! Also just ignore all the ignorant people that are gonna talk smack.

You really need to take the dog to the vet. Sometimes humane societies will offer reduced vet visits. It could be anything from kennel cough to parvo. Some vets take payments too.

If I knew his weight, I might be able to help . You can buy terramycian powder at a feed store. It fights bacterial infections. small breed puppy, 1/4 tsp in a small amount of wet dog food. Larger breed puppy I give 1/2 tst. 3 times a day. Call a vet and ask if he can have triaminic cold or allergy medicine, and how much to give him. This is what I give to my dogs and cats when they are sick..good for upper respiratory infections in both dogs and cats...It has worked for me. The antibiotic will cost about $8.00 for a bag...good luck.

If all else fails and you can't take care of it, take it to your local humane society or shelter, and they will take it from you, treat it and put the puppy up for adoption. Otherwise go to a pet store, I'm sure they have something over the counter that will cost a lot less than vet visit.
(adam99977779's you're a jerk, don't euthanize it)

You are going to get some mean answers here because people on here are going to say "if you can't afford taking care of a pet" don't get one......BUT just cuddle that baby and try your best. IT'S BETTER THAT SOMEONE WHO LOVES AN ANIMAL CARE AND TAKE CARE OF IT THAN anyone else. I KNOW what you're going through because I'm 49 ---- LOVE ANIMALS and wish I could take care of them and have them.....unfortunately I can't afford it either. Try calling your local SPCA MAYBE????
