Could it sometimes be point gaming (or whatever they call that) because it's not a real answer, just a quick cut and paste?

Just wondering because sometimes there are those that seem to never answer any questions with anything but a quote.

If a person is posting quotes that are relevant to the question (as an attempt to provide an answer), then no it is not spam.

Posts that have nothing to do with the question, is spam - quotes or no quotes.

No, I sometimes use Bible quotes to contradict Christians... I do the same with the Quran and BOM when people of those faiths are ignorant about their own texts.

Dont forget that you are in religion and spirituality. The bible is part of that. If bible quotes answer your question, what are you complaining about? But if they are going nowhere, then its more like harassment. Kind of like when someone asks a question about God and somebody says that there is no God. What about that? It would probably be better if you address you questions to non believers or other religions. Or perhaps go to a different topic area.

There is no stronger word in all the universe than GOD'S WORD. Anything else is just an opinion. And as they say, opinions are like butts - we all have one of our own.

Hbr 4:12 For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Report away - my points are REAL points with God - not Y!A

not if the words of the "quote" answer the question.... personaly i almost never quote The Bible. The Bible is not intended for those not of The Church... or, those opent to the leading of God through The Holy Spirit... so it is generaly a waste of time to quote or cut and paste Bible verses. when communicating with those not of The Church.

No. Hardly anything here is totally original.

I use Bible quotes, or back up my answers with the Bible. This is R/S section after all.

How absurd is that , that you want to ban the Bible from the Religion & Spirituality section?

And how hateful too.

You so despise what is precious to others and imagine yourself to be so superior?

You have gone a long way.

unless they answer the question directly, yes...

if they are just preaching/ranting, it's reportable, but i'd rather just give thumbs down, and keep moderators out of it unless it's a blatant violation, like cussing someone out... or posting the same question 15 times in an hour...

No, not unless the person insults someone or otherwise violates community guidelines.
If someone uses the same quote over and over, that MIGHT be considered spam.
I'm not sure. You might want to look at the Community Guidelines to find out.
