Never let anyone judge you without your permission..
there are a lot of "so called christians" who criticise everyone else without looking inside first...
You do whats right by you, you follow your own way, let other people burn their eyes and waste their breath staring at you and naysaying...

5 steps;
1. They claim to be 'Christ-like'
2. There is a very good chronicle of Jesus' activities, personality and attitude in the Bible.
3. The 'Christ-like' individual should reflect that attitude
4. Compare the individual's record with the requirements of a Christian
5. You know whether they are Christian or not

In the sense that no one can look upon a person's heart and know what he truly believes other than God himself, you are correct. However, Christians conform to certain beliefs that we all agree upon because they are basic statements that God has told us in the Bible. If a person does not hold to those beliefs then he is not likely a Christian.

A Christian is defined by the doctrine of the trinity. Salvation is clearly defined as well stating that you must be saved through the Son to obtain passage to heaven. This is how Christian is defined. If you view it differently then call yourself whatever you please just don't confuse yourself for something you are not. On the other hand, if you do confess this as your belief, don't sweat the small stuff. Reb or Dem is of little issue in regards to faith

Sometimes only God knows...
usually though it is by their fruits that is obvious that a person is not of God or for God.
This does not mean they will not come to the same conclusions you, I, and even the Apostle Paul came to, that is that Jesus is Lord.
This is not in my time it is in God's time.

"Over translated"? What does that even mean?
There is no disparity between God in the Old Testament and God in the New Testament. Same God loving His people, disciplining them when they disobey and rebel.
Jesus said:
Matthew 10:34-39 34 ¶ "Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 "For I came to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; 36 and a man's enemies will be the members of his household. 37 "He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. 38 "And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. 39 "He who has found his life shall lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake shall find it."
Chrisitans now have a commonly accepted New Testament in the koine Greek, and it can be adequately translated into any language from that; same thing (except Hebrew & Aramaic) for the OT.
2 Corinthians 4:4
4 in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

you cant be born into christianity and christianity is faith, believing in something. It's like putting your trust in something or someone. and in chritianities case its trusting in God and trusting that he will be there for you if you fully devote your self to him he will be there for you... when you call him he will answer. He man not answer your prayers the way you want because he knows what is right for you. Everyone should no where they are at. Basically a christian is someone who puts there complete faith in God and knows that God is on there side. Are you putting your complete faith in God?

You will know them by their fruits.
That is why I can call the white Christians in this forum fake Christians and Pagan Racist Christians.
Because of their racist attitudes.
Because they embrace pagan holidays, celebrations etc.
Christmas, Easter and Halloween are pagan holidays.

After reading this answer, I can see how people can be confused on both sides of the coin. I guess the best answer could be that we shall all be judge by the light of God that is in each and every one of us. We shouldn't judge anyone. And thank God that He is color blind.

I'm no expert but I usually figure that anybody who believes that Jesus is the Son of God is probably a Christian.
