Depends on the dog. My dog is a big dog( you would think he would love chewing toys, but he doesn't). I would recommend not very many, just a few. Try the basics like a tennis ball, a bone, and a tug-a-war toy. Don't give them an old sneaker, they will think it is okay to chew the other shoes - trust me, it has happened to me. Squeeky toys are good, too.

Its good to have a huge variety but not give them all at once. Dogs will get bored. Pick a few and rotate them every couple of weeks with other toys to keep it exciting. There is no magic number of toys a dog should have.

As many as you want. Dogs and puppies are like little kids they love new things and usually only focus on one thing for a short period. Once they're done with old toys don't throw them away. Put them in a box then take them out like a month or two later. Its like christmas.

i have about 4-5 toys that are chew toys, that are vitually indestructable..i gave up on squeky toys cuz my little 15 lbs chi mix could chew threw them in about an hour..i buy him bully bones from time to time, cuz they are way better for dogs than rawhide..but it just depends on the dog..if your dog doesn't take out his/her aggression on squeky toys then get a couple of those too..but i would only leave maybe a couple toys out at a time..its like a kid, if you give them too many they get bored of em too quickly, but give them one here and there, let em wear it out and give them a new one they will enjoy it way more!

As many as you'd like! My dog is probably spoiled when it comes to toys... as long as he's playing with them and using them, I don't think there's any magical number.

As many as you want to. Our Chi has two toy baskets, one downstairs and one upstairs. At one point she would expect a new toy and even look for it when we came home from shopping. Cant help but spoil her.
