It doesn't matter if you are a liar cheater, thief, prostitute, homosexual, athiest, etc....
1. Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. 2. Jesus answered, "Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way? 3. I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish. 4. Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them—do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? 5. I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish."

3Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness. 4Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.

5Moses describes in this way the righteousness that is by the law: "The man who does these things will live by them."[a] 6But the righteousness that is by faith says: "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'[b]" (that is, to bring Christ down) 7"or 'Who will descend into the deep?'[c]" (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,"[d] that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame."[e] 12For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."[f]

I read most of these answers and I tried to decipher your question. Sounds like you are not seeking knowledge but trying to say that your God is better than my God Nyaah Nyaah. Really tho, you are preachy.

I think that God is up there looking at us and shaking his head, marveling that we are getting it sooooooo wrong. I think he feels like he is a comedian playing to an audience that is afraid to laugh.

All of you, the worst thing anyone can do is get in another's face and rub his face around insisting that you are right and he is wrong. How arrogant.

I can quote scripture and other Holy books till I puke and so what?

Grace is the undeserved love of God. "By Grace are ye saved, it is a gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast" Now, guys, that works for me.....might not for you and that's ok with me and I'll bet that's ok with The Big Guy too.

You are making ot way way too hard.

To the Authoress: Just because Jesus died for us does not mean you are automatically saved and that His sacrifice 2,000 years ago allows you to be saved without your daily effort. "Pray without ceasing, Pray, Pray and give thanks"

There is no such thing as a free lunch

Have a nice day.

Acts 2:38-40 38 And Peter said to them, "Repent, and let each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 "For the promise is for you and your children, and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God shall call to Himself." 40 And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on exhorting them, saying, "Be saved from this perverse generation!"

Contrition and authentic repentence are both required for forgiveness of sins.

Don't lead people astray with your false doctrines.

Nobody's sins are forgiven unless they apologize to God and repent ... and baptism is typically the first step in that process.

The verses you quoted indicate that apart from repenting and believing in Jesus one cannot be forgiven of sin.

Good for him, but since MY sins were not against him, he has nothing to forgive me for.

Since he is NOT God, his forgiveness is no better than saying Jim Jones, David Koresh, Muhammad or Buddha forgives me my sins.

Your xian world view does not apply to most of the world as most of the world is not xian.

And to God belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. He forgives whomsoever He pleases and punishes whomsoever He pleases, and God is Most Forgiving, Merciful.

Did you know that not everyone believes in your religion?
And that some people are sick of hearing 'Jesus loves you' over and over again? And that Yahoo! Answers is not a 'soapbox' where you can rant and rant?
