It's slang for "wild" meats, those not fed in captivity or on farm land. Usually it refers to wild venison, boar, lamb, goat, etc.

'Game' refers to a wild, non domesticated animal which is shot for sport, or shot and eaten for food. This includes venison, birds and rabbits.

It also includes other animals such as elephants, deer, bears and even kangaroos, all depending on where you are in the world.

I have never heard of lamb being referred to as game, as it is a domesticated animal. I am pretty sure your friend is wrong.

People often say game meat is leaner and has less fat than ordinary meat, presumably due to the way the animal grows up.

It means it tastes like it has started to go bad.
