best way to do it is to wipe off any dirt off with a cloth. Than use an old cloth or an old shirt you will never use again, dab it in some petroleum jelly (vaseline). Make sure not to take to much, DO NOT scoop it. than wipe all over the surface of the shoe, this will remove any scuffs or small scratches. At last your shoes will be as shiny as when they where bought.

I'm guessing you're not in the military... if you haven't earned your stripes, then you haven't earned the right to speak as you have. If you have been in the military then it's a shame that you're so willing to trash talk about your all your fellow servicemen in such a way. I've been afforded the great opportunity to work with guard members in the past and it's always been an honor to work with people as professional as the guard officers I've been in contact with. The guard serves a very different purpose at its core than the active duty, but that mission (defending the territorial integrity of the USA) is just as important as fighting wars and detering agression on foreign soil. I don't care about your political opinions; I have no use in my life for politics, but your equivocating the ANG with high school JROTC is an affront to ALL military personnel who serve this nation: active, guard, and reserve. EDIT: Rose, before calling anyone dumb, you might want to research enough about them to know what college they went to AND the fact that they had service in the military... and knowing how to properly spell "military" is probably an important thing before asserting negatives on other peoples' intelligence.

If they are the shiny ones, windex works as does Brasso to get out the scuff marks.

I like Armorall wipes, it gets the scuffs out, windex doesn't, I use windex mostly though, since it cleans most of the dirt from them.

If they're leather, you can clean them with saddle soap if they are really soiled, otherwise just use polish. For the new shiny plastic ones, use windex.

A little windex or other type of glass cleaner should work fine.
