Yes, there are exercises and training that deals with heights, however. . .
one of the major benefits of joining the military is that they put you in circumstances where you can overcome your fears and become a stronger person because of it. In reality "brave" people aren't much "braver" then anyone else, but rather they are able to control their fear so that it doesn't control them. If you are afraid of heights the military will provide you an opportunity to conquer that fear.

It can be a problem for you personally. If it prevents you from completing a task, say in boot camp, then you won't graduate. However, if you manage to graduate, you may still encounter things that require you to tackle heights.
All of the branches, have something that will challenge you in terms of height. One poster suggested the CG as an alternative to the Army. However, CG members may have to climb the forecastle or the mast on a ship. So, keep that in mind.

You would definetely have to get over your fears of heights because the army/military has many training things that have to do with heights. For example, helicopters, mountain climbing, jumping into water from high up, skydiving..... etc.

If you are asking about flying, fear of heights has nothing to do with it, no matter where you are, since you are inside an airplane. It only happens when you perceive you could fall, like climbing a ladder or standing at the edge of a roof. So, join whatever you want.

Yes there are confidence courses that they do at basic training to help you gain just that..confidence..even in heights... they will help you get over some of your fear of heights, if not all. Dont worry, I was afraid of heights too but I was able to do it. Your Drill Sgts will help you, trust me. Just believe in yourself, that's the first step.

I have known people up to 6 ft7 serving in the military, in all 4 branches. Now, your height could limit your job options. Certain heights are too tall for subs and airplanes, as well as some of the mechanical support positions for those vehicles. The only and best way to get an accurate answer is to talk to recruiters.

Well, if it doesn't interfere with your ability to be a soldier, you should be okay. The military has run into this time and again, and they may be able to help you to overcome your phobia. Your recruiter may be best suited for this question. Or someone that has experience as a drill instructor. Good luck!

Yes, such as climbing over the wall.
But that's nothing. If you get sent over somewhere you'll be in planes and helicopters all the time. You have to master your fear of heights :)
