Does anyone know how to change the default font when I want to insert a comment into a cell? The font for the individual cells happens to be arial10, but the default font whenever I want to insert a comment seems to be "Tahoma 8", which is too small. I'd like to change it to size 10 and if possible to arial. Thanks

When you insert your comment you should be able to edit the size of the text the same way as you would when changing font on word.

it can be done the same way as you would have done for any other cell. you're right about the default font being tahoma 8, but
1. select everything in the comment window
2. use the main window options to format the font and size
3. continue editing.
note: if you're using arial 10 for your main document, may i suggest arial narrow 10 for your comments. it takes less space and look neat. good luck!

To change the default font, try this:
On the Format menu, click Style.
Click Modify.
On the Font tab, select the font, style, and size that you want.
Click OK.

If this still does not work maybe it is the width of the column
try this
On the Format menu, point to Column, and then click Width.
In the Column width box, type 10 (75 pixels wide), and then click OK.
On the Format menu, click Style, and then verify that the default font is correctly set to what you would like.
change the width should help

You have to go out of Excel to be able to change the font. You have to change the tool tip font. But changing the tool tip font changes more than just your Excel comment fonts. I had limited success.
