No once a Muslim woman sees any blood even if it is spotting blood then her fast is autmotically nullified. She can not fast or touch an Arabic Qur'an the entire time she is on her period and she has to make up those days that she missed before the next Ramadan but after the previous Ramadan ends. It's because blood makes you unclean and because if she fasts then she sins.

women do not fast whilst they are in a impure state ie; menstruating....
(reason being-scientifically why do women have periods? because a female egg does not get fertilised and so the egg gets broken up and is released as a period)-this is waste coming out,so impure) apologies i dont know the exact scientific terms for this explanation) not to mention the pain they go through...so women dont have to fast during this time...but have to make up for the missed period at a later time

Nope. Islam claims women are unclean during this period, therefore they stop fasting and resume - plus time lost - once they are clean again.
