I'm looking for others on this.

Example, thunder... super loud bass, etc.

I feel like my hearing is going to go and it ruins my whole day.

I understand most people probably hear it and move on but I can't.

Anything is possible. But it's too exhausting to live that kind of a life. I have a little bit of hearing loss in one ear and I write music... I've been fanatical about trying to protect my ears so when something out of my control like 150dB thunder it drives me truly mad.

There is def. a reason for the reaction; I just wish it wasn't so dramatic. I feel physically effected with such loud noise of course - however I know that the emotional effects are a mental health issue.

Crippling really.

The reaction you get from loud sounds is something I have dealt with for a number of years. It comes out of my Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
The difference for me is that sustained loud sounds, such as a movie in a theater, a Praise Band in church, or power tools running....can make me lose the ability to reason and to figure things out. I find it to be so emotionally exhausting the only way I can "recover" that same day is to nap an hour or 2. The sleep seems to "re-set" my senses and my abilities to think and reason.

Yes, most people do hear it and even enjoy it, and they move on with their day. But not everyone has that ability. Some of us have PTSD from traumatic experiences in our background.
