I also grew up in the 60's and 70's, watching the Vietnam War on the news. (We only had 5 T.V. channels in 1969 )
I was against us going to war, because I didn't think terrorism
could be defeated by overwhelming military might. Just like the British couldn't defeat American woodsmen in their backyard and France couldn't stop the Vietcong guerrilla's and Russia couldn't defeat Afghanistan guerrilla's.
However, now that Bush got us there, I don't think we should leave until we get Osama. That's what we ought to do, make a deal that if anyone turns Osama over to us we'll leave Iraq.
That would get some people thinking about it.

We should bring them home from Iraq or deploy them into Afghanistan. It was Afghanistan that was the real issue, then we got off on this Iraq deal. Sodom Hussein should have been taken down but not how and when we did it. I also say to hell with this minimal force idea. I say overrun the enemy, have them up to there shoulders in US Forces! That way our guys have the support, replacements, and everything else they will need. Who in there right mind would fight an enemy with only a small number of troops?!! It just takes longer and allows more of our guys to get cut up, piece meal. I say go in, in superior force with hardness and violent! Then once things settle down then begin to work on rebuilding and mopping up. Then we can help them create a stable and strong government. Oh and to hell with civilian rule, once you take over an area, it is under military rule until the war is over then during the rebuilding you get locals and the people to step up and begin to run their own nation. It's a real mess, and it seems like all our generals are politicians instead of warriors. The days of Omar Bradley and George S. Patton Jr. are dead and gone and that make me want to cry for the lack of leadership and support our guys have now.

that's incredibly as much as the government of australia to make that selection. even even with the undeniable fact which you're allied individuals would desire to admire you're selection. although many persons are blind and dont look on the data that all and sundry started this conflict interior the 1st place. Muslim extreminism has killed MANY foreigners till now the Iraq conflict. Iran revolution, Lebanon, Sudan, united statesCole, Kuwait invasion. the 1st gulf conflict became into an entire failure with the aid of fact we did no longer instill defeat interior the Iraq human beings. They concept they gained the conflict. We fail in this conflict with the aid of fact we by no potential instilled defeat. each so often doing that consists of no longer basic alternatives like returned in 1945 and Hiroshima. the factor of in factor of actuality is that non secular enthusiasts have been killing our human beings long till now we've achieved something.

No. I don't think we should show the Taliban and al Quaida, that we (U.S.A.) are cowards by pulling out of their war now. It would be a terrible idea. That would give them a good chance to carry out their plot to kill us all, send in suicide bombers in all our huge cities, and who knows what else they are capable of doing. The reality is to stay there and deal with them the way that our Military Advisors and Generals, see fit. They are the ones dealing with this evil islams. Are there any "nice islams" that you know of in the world that actually love Americans or America in general??? I don't. But, you know the soldiers are willing to fight for our freedom and defend our country to the end.

Well, let's all hold hands, join in a rousing rendition of "Imagine" and hope the Islamofascist terrorist savages that hate our guts just go away.
Is it possible for you and the rest of the joint puffing crowd to put down the doobies long enough to see that there is a real threat to our way of life out there? Honey, THEY WANT TO KILL US!!!!! Can't you get that through your head?????

Have the troops come home when they feel it is time to come home.
They are the best qualified to judge how the war is going - why don't you listen to them?
