I don't try to discredit Jesus, God and Christians. I respect your beliefs and am happy for you if you have found peace within them.
Understand, though, that not everyone believes as you do. Therefore, in a society that is becoming increasingly multifaith (including non-adherents such as atheists, atheistic agnostics, etc) it is important for all views to be considered in making policy, even if some are in the minority. Thus, I find it troublesome when Christian beliefs are used as a justification for social or legal policy, especially when many Christians themselves do not agree with such policy.
Again, though, I am happy that you have found peace. I personally believe that, if there exists a God, it is not of a particular dogma that exists today - probably no particular dogma at all.

That argument works both ways.
...
Why do so many people on answers try so hard to discredit atheists, agnostics & pagans?
It absolutely amazes me how far some go to slam anyone and everyone that has found peace and happiness without God. If it is not for you then go on and go your own way. But for those of us that have found peace and a reason to hope all your bad mouthing in the world is not going to change our beliefs. So move on, get a life and quit wasting other people's time. And I hope and pray that you never hit rock bottom because you will have no where to turn.

because its so easy to do, and because so many christians are so vile and evil. I mean, christians just keep providing us with ammo, what else are we gonna do? Quit providing the ammo, and we'll keep shooting you with it.
edit: Here, for all of you who think we are young, teenagers..yea not so much, most of us are more educated about your religion than you are yourselves. Which is why we sit here able to rip you to shreds and you have no way to defend yourselfs.

I think that a lot of people are afraid of what they can't see so that makes them rebel and act out to those of us who do believe.
Growing up my faith was never questioned. Everyone believed in GOD or so we were taught that everyone believed in GOD. But now, it seems that the believers are the ones questioned and treated as the odd person out.
If I want to believe in something then that is my right to do so.
Don't hold it against me and let me believe it. I don't try to push religion on anyone but I am afraid of anyone that doesn't believe in the Bible.
I feel like if someone doesn't believe in a higher power then what kind of rules do they live by ?
I have hit rock bottom many times and believe me, if the heavenly father wasn't there for me then I don't know how I would have survived.
I truely believe that those who don't believe are afraid, afraid of us who do believe because we have something to live for and look foward to...The Rapture and meeting our maker again some day.

Well, anyone that goes around "slamming" people is probably just a rebellious teenager. However in other situations where people express reasoning that could discredit Jesus or God, Its really not that bad of a thing. It gives people (Religious or not) the opportunity to think about what it is we do believe and analyze it as compared to the views of someone with different views.
When I express my views its simply so that others can understand my perspective.

A drunk has found peace and happiness.
So has a heroin addict.
All the faith in the world is not going to change the reality that your god is the creation of man.
The only rock bottom you can hit is death. Anything else, I always have myself. If others want to help me too then that is great, but it is always humans helping humans - ther is no other hand in it.

You have to understand that a lot of so called Christians have been bashing people for years for being: Pagan, Jewish, Hindu, Islamic, Homosexual, Browneyed...whatever.
For those of us who do not do such things, it is quite frustrating, but we have faith, trust, knowledge and wisdom that is only strengthened by God.
And we should only hope that they may come to a sense of brokenness, only then will God be able to reshape them ;o)
Blessings!

Why is that "Christians" changed "Jesus' " very name to fit their beliefs and their culture. Jesus is not the proper name for the Jewish man of middle eastern decsent described as having skin of bronze and hair of wool in the Bible. They gave him pale skin, blonde hair and blue eyes, changed his name AND his religion to suit their needs. THAT is what's wrong and leads to more wrong doing. The skepticism regarding religion is founded in the false representation and blatant self serving interpretation of the Bible.

There are not many who do this, and I think the ones who do are just little teenagers. In all fairness, there are haters on both sides.
There are a few wacko Christians who go off on us all. There are also little teenagers who PRETEND to be Christians and who say things that make us all look like fools. They do it as a joke.

I would never slam somebody because they've found peace and happiness in their faith. I will, however, slam someone who professes that their faith is the only way yet fails miserably to back it up with logic or reason.
