She may be able to have the teeth "bonded". The dentist will attach white filling material to the teeth to close the gap. Its much cheaper than braces and can be done i just one dental visit. Bonding is also absolutely painless and does not require a shot to numb the area! Most dental offices offer free consultations. She should be able to have a dentist look at her gap for free during the consult and they will be able to tell her if bonding is possible. Bonding looks absolutely natural. Here is a web page so you can see some pics: http://www.mynewsmile.com/bondingphotos.htm.

Hope this helps!

If braces are needed will depend on the size of the gap and if the teeth are in the correct alignment. Sometimes teeth appear to be fine but are really not. Your dentist will be able to determine if braces are needed or not. Occasionally a gap is left at the patients request; some patients are very proud of their gap and feel it offers an appeal to their appearance and personality. Maybe your sister should look at all the important people and movie stars with a gap before she starts thinking her teeth are horrible. Help her out and mention that to her.

She will probably have to wear braces, but tell her not to worry because it wont be for too long, and her teeth will be amazing after!

They do a special procedure for filling in gaps sometimes. Or they might just give her a retainer.

I think it depends on the dentist and how big the space is and where it is.

THIS ENTIRELY DEPENDS ON HER MOUTH AND THE DENTIST WHO SEES HER AND EVALUATES THE CASE.
