it used to be people would say look at all the complexity in the world. there had to have been a designer who was responsible for all of this, thus this is proof of the existence of god. then as science advanced, those willing to accept scientific fact over faith realized that the story of life on this planet was a little more complicated than the story of creation in genesis. however, it seems with this realization there is a new breed of christians forming, those who are willing to accept the big bang theory. but, there's a catch. now they're claiming that since scientists can't explain what caused the big bang, that this must be proof of a god. certainly something had to cause the big bang, right? what i'm wondering is when scientists eventually have an answer for what caused the big bang, will this open the door for new questions that have yet to be unanswered, like "what caused the cause?" if so, and scientists don't readily have an answer, will this be new proof of a god?

None of this is proof of the existence of a god. It is religious people grasping for straws.

The Bible says, "Only a fool has said in his heart, there is no God." Rightly so, because it's stupid to think the earth that is at just the right distance from the sun was there by chance. A few degrees further from the sun and we'd all freeze to death; a few degrees closer and we'd all fry! Wherever there is a design, there's a designer and where there's a plan, there's a planner....there is a God! And guess what? He made Himself known in His written word....the Bible. But the problem is unbelief....it's been the problem since the first man and woman were created from the dust. Speaking of which, is it any scientific wonder we all go back to dust when our bodies die? If you read the Bible from the beginning to the New Testament, and ask God to reveal Himself to you through those pages, He will. Why? Because He loves you with a passion in a world that debates His existance, blames Him for the problems in this world, yet continues to do as they please without ever taking into account Gods laws and why He put them in place for our own safety and good. God is not the God that most people make Him out to be because many people do not know God. As I have gotten to know this awesome God in my spirit, He has truly healed me of so many things that hurt me in my life, opened my eyes to truth that Jesus came to teach, and rescued me and one day I will see Him face to face. God tells us how we got into this mess, what He did to get us out of it, and the end of the story! It is up to you to believe it or reject it. The problem with science, is they can't put God in a test tube. They also put this world in their own little scientific box not realizing that God lives way outside of man's box. The God of all creation, actually communicates with us in His written word....the Bible, but many people say its just a book written by men. The truth is, God works through people just like satan does. You see, Jesus Christ told us, in John 10:10, "The thief (satan) comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but I have come that they might have life and have it more abundantly!" Just started reading what God has to say to you and trust Him that He will indeed show you the bible can be trusted because He authored it by inspiration of the Holy Spirit. God wants you and every person on the earth to know that He loves you passionately and always wanted a relationship with each of us personally....I could write so much more, but think this is a good start that I hope will encourage you.....God is not far away or hard to find my friend....He is right there speaking to your own heart and sends people along the way to show you the right path to Him.

The universe is proof that there is NO god.
What being could have created the expanse of the universe, and hide it's existance? This is ridiculous!
Scientist are doing the WORK to uncover the origins of the universe. To say "god" created it, because we don't have all the answers (yet) is intellectually lazy.

Hmm... you actually changed my mind a little in this. I always thought it was more science (not that I don't believe in God.. I'm Agnostic). But yeah, it does make sense to say that something (God) must have caused the big bang.

Get the book and start at the first chapter and read. If you read the whole book, you will find things that is mentioned that has happened or is going to happen. Now this little book was written several years ago. And it tells us about things happening right now.
If that doen't tell you that there is a God, than what does. Read the book.

I know science is a good thing but sometimes there are things that can not be proved. I have always believed there was a God but I knew for sure when I lost my little girl and he brought her back to me one night and she let me know she was ok. The feelings that surrounded her was one of so much love, I knew she was not alone but was not able to see who was with her. Someone told me a few days later that it was God, I was not able to see him for mortals cannot. Since then no one has to prove anything to me because I know he lives.

Funny...isn't it? More scientific advances, more rather outrageous "proofs" there are for a divine being....And just because there is no evidence for something that happened (Big Bang) then that does NOT mean that is proof for a god...

The word "cause" cannot refer to anything outside of space and time. Not to a cause for the universe (space/time itself) or a cause for a god (unless the god is not outside of space/time. of course).
What you are talking about is the "God of the Gaps" argument; basically "if we can't explain it, it must be god". This is inherently anti-science, since any new discovery would reduce the scope of ones deity.

the cause of big bang is very understood, this is where god ends ,,,, quantum physics shows matter to be created spontaneously out of nothing and for no apparent reason on neuclei levels, and this is how matter started to exist in the first place ......

they know what happened up to a few milliseconds after the big bang occurred, as to what caused is unknown. you all have to realize, this is the big bang, an explosion so huge anything before it or what caused it would've left no trace. at least that's what we think as far as our science has progressed.
