Even though I would love to see this happen, have you thought about any alternatives yet? Have you told your boss? Have you asked the guy to shut the hell up? Can you just curse him out, that prob wouldn't even get you fired, maybe just reprimanded!
If you DO slap him, make sure someone else is around (and hopefully videoing it too, b/c I wanna see!!)

Let me preface with violence is never the answer.
I will now tell you that I have been in your shoes and had a co-worker make my work life completely miserable from day one. I went to HR and asked for help after 3 months of her harassment but was told it was a personal problem (she like my fiance...blah blah blah)...so on that particular day I made a decision. I had become fed up so I clocked out and went out the backdoor...and lo and behold who should be standing there? Evil co-worker....well I just so happened to beat her down like she was so sure no one would ever do (all my co-workers wanted to no one was brave enough to do so). I was physically restrained by a pretty big guy who I got away from and as he was telling me I had to stay and wait for the cops I politely informed him I was no longer an employee of that company and should the police need me I would be at home.
I went straight home and waited for the police..it's uh 2 years later and I can no longer go to that particualr home improvement store...but other than that I had no problem. Now was it a smart thing to do? No. Do I suggest you do the same? No. But I hope that answers your question.
Oh yeah and that bully of a girl got fired and is now facing felony charges for stealing some merchandise..so perhaps if I'd been patient and waited I could have been there when she was escorted out of the store in handcuffs....

Seriously, post this in the legal section at least, to get some reasons why you shouldn't.
If you get fired, you may have the time for a lawsuit, but not the money for one.

You could get arrested for assault. You could get sued by the guy you slap.
Just ask, is he worth all the trouble you would be in if you did it?

If you do it at work there are witnesses and you'll be charged with assault so fast your head will spin. He's obviously immature, don't stoop to his level.

Isn't it tempting? But save it for daydreaming. It isn't worth all the trouble you would face and you would face a lot.

You can and probably will be charged with assault. An assault charge on your record can and will make it hard to find future employment.
