I just got an element hdtv, I have time warner digital cable and it works great, my question is I cannot get my vcr/dvd player to work with the hdtv. My nephew hooked everything up but it don't work and I think he threw away the quick guide for set up. Any suggestions??? There was some connectors that came with the tv that have red, white and I think blue jacks on them.

Digital tuner technology has improved a lot since 2004-2005. The only solution is to use an external tuner with the HDTV. There are several way to do this: 1. If the screen size is small, try a DTV converter box. Used ones are cheap. Any of the boxes will have a better tuner than the 2005 vintage TV. A Zenith or Insignia model would be best. Not HD but with a small screen it may not matter. 2. Use a resent vintage computer as a tuner/DVR. You can pick up a USB HDTV tuner for $50 or so for a PC tuner. I bought a used one for $12 a while back. 3. Buy an external ATSC HD tuner. Should be in the $100 range. There are also DVRs with built in digital tuners, but they are not cheap.
