I find no other question in the world so thought-provoking and emotional as “Why me?”

The world most often uses this question in response to a negative condition or circumstance:
I am sick, ill, have can cancer, or am dying...”why me?”
My loved one is sick, ill, has cancer, is dying, or died...”why me?”
Look at all the bad circumstance of my life...”why me?”

I can still vividly remember the night I broke down weeping before God when pondering the question, “why me”?
...and it WASN’T in response to a negative condition or circumstance!

Quite the opposite, it was a sudden revelation of God to me of His GRACE in my salvation.
When I realized the reality of hell, and the truth that most will wind up there, and that I would not and will not, I could do nothing but weep buckets before God, asking Him, “Why me?”

And while others speak of their “good works” or “faith” or their “personal free-will decision” to follow Christ, I knew this had NOTHING to do with God’s Sovereign choice in election and salvation.

Yes, yes...it is BECAUSE of grace...but why ME, personally?

Why you, PERSONALLY?

And why not others?

And you are absolutely WRONG if you start speaking about “good works” OR speak about “your faith” OR about “your decision” OR about how “you accepted” the free gift of eternal salvation from God...

For even the personal consent itself is of God’s grace, and not as an action arising from innate human ability.

Well, the only logical answer is (as offensive as this may be):

God must like you better than he does me. As you say, your salvation is a direct result of God's Grace, God chose you and not me. He condemed my soul to Hell the moment he created the earth, knowing full well it would result in me, and that I would reject his Word. As good as that can make you feel, imagine what that actually says about God.

If God is choosing who is saved, doesn’t that undermine our free will to chose and believe in Christ? The Bible says that we have the free will choice – all we have to do is believe in Jesus Christ and we will be saved (John 3:16; Romans 10:9-10). The Bible never describes God rejecting anyone who believes in Him or turning away anyone who was seeking Him (Deuteronomy 4:29). Somehow, in the mystery of God, predestination works hand in hand with a person being drawn by God (John 6:44) and believing unto salvation (Romans 1:16). God predestines who will be saved, and we must choose Christ in order to be saved. Both facts are equally true. Romans 11:33 proclaims, “Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable His judgments, and His paths beyond tracing out!”

I find this a selfish way to think. Also, I have NEVER asked 'Why me?' in my entire life. I've gotten knocked around with some really horrible things but the thing I did was rise. You are diminishing everyone here because of your own experience. When I write everyone, I mean it. Many blessings on your path to what appears to be a self-righteous life. I doubt it will bring you happiness but I guess it's not my path to walk.

I'm not really sure what your Asking, but GOD gave us FreeWill, HE won't overStep that, GOD Pushes Back the Blindness in our Minds to give us a chance to say YES to Jesus.
If HE pushes back that Blindness (by making you Realize that you are Lost without HIM) and you say NO, then not Even GOD can Save you.

If it was not you, it would be someone else, who would be asking the same question you are now.

And you'd be asking "why me?" referring to something else.

[edit] I had a similar "revelation" realizing that there was no God and I often wonder why I see this when others don't.

It is the freedome of choice.
We chose what to do with our lives from the start. We chose to listen or not listen to our parents..We chose to change our lives or not change them. Every singel step is because of chosing. Nothing else.

Take good care!

I cannot answer your Q but here is something.
why does a painter paint over one painting and not another?
why does a potter destroy one pot and not the other?
Ask God.
