Hell is the bibles name for the grave. We all go there when we die.
Hell as taught in the churches is a man made doctrine most likely invented to scare the week minded into following the church thus increasing the churches power base and donation base.
The bible says the wages of sin is death.Once you die you have paid the price so why would god punish you again for something you already paid for ,even worst eternally ?
Ecclesiastes 9:5 tells us the dead are conscious of nothing so what's the point of punishment if you won't be conscious of it.
Acts 2:27,31&32 Jesus was raised from hell after 3 days ,if it's a place of punishment then why was Jesus there ?

There's no such thing as eternal punishing in Hell.

people will normally bring up two scriptures to support hell

1) Lazarus and the rich man which was just a parable and not meant to describe eternity for the wicked. The rich man is in the process of getting thrown into the fire and burned. It NEVER says he continues to burn forever. The whole point of the parable is to show us that there's other things in life than getting rich.

2) Then there's Revelation 20:10 which is just a mis-translation. The beast and the false prophet had been thrown into the lake of fire. They were not there any more.

There is a "hell fire" and it shall never be quenched. Mark 9:43-47. This fire is used to kill and destroy unrepentant sinners. It will not burn forever. Your basic forest fire is "not quenched" -it keeps burning until it runs out of fuel. Same with this hell fire - once there are no more sinners to burn -it stops burning.

The whole concept of eternal suffering is false and unbiblical.

Our heavenly father is merciful - not some sort of sadist.

In the beginning of the world, all people were perfect. Then Adam and Eve sinned, and God and man were separated forever. God is perfect, and no one who isn't can be with Him. Then Jesus came, and died on the cross, saving us from our sins. See, salvation is a free gift. Anyone who accepts it goes to heaven, because they have allowed Jesus to save them. Anyone who doesn't accept it, condemns themselves to eternity without God. It's not God sending you away from heaven, it's you. God is forgiving, and it's never to late to repent and be saved.

Because the idea of god was invented by humans in order to control the masses and to make a set of rules in which everyone was expected to follow. Threaten some gullible fool about some "firey lake" and that'll scare them enough to comply with "god's rules."

Hell was never made for Human Beings.

It takes awhile to understand it.
GOD never meant (or does on purpose) to use Hell as a Punishment.
