sci fi guy got it right-

at least the beginnings of the link between leif eirikson and why I directed this towards christians.

I love how the first responce is that this is an attack on them rather than pointing out a historical figure of interest who is important in european christianity history. Aside from the fact that he landed here 500 years before columbus.

Lief Erikson discovered North America just before the year 1000. He even built a settlement in Newfoundland. His voyage was later followed by more Norse expeditions to North America for lumber.

However, his home settlement in Greenland died out in the Middle Ages due to the Little Ice Age. The European link to North America was lost until Columbus reestablished it almost 500 years later.

...

Also, Lief Erikson was a Christian.

I'm going to drink Malt Barley Ale while wearing my pigtails and horned hat and sing to Odin at the top of my lungs.

I am not doing anything. Are you celebrating by getting drunk?

Why are you just asking Christians?
That's kind of prejudicial, don't you think?
