You must cook them first or they will not puree. A regular blender will work just fine. Just cook them, let them cool a little and toss them in the blender. If your puree is a bit too thick add some of the water you used to cook the veggies (if you boil), tap water, or broth.

Cook them to a very soft consistancy, and puree them in your blender. A food processor will not chop up the veggies fine enough to be considered puree. If it did, how would you make salsa?

Cook them first and blend them a few at a time adding a little of the water the you cooked them in. If you do too many at a time or don't have enough liquid in the blender it won't be happy. Good luck!

Cook them thouroghly, puree in a blender with enough cooking liquid, milk, or light cream, to make a thick "paste".

i have 2 of these:

they are perfect for pureeing tomatoes and other cooked vegetables for soups and sauces because it holds back all the strings and seeds that might be in some foods, which does not happen with a food processor

yes you need to cook the veggies and then drain them well
then add them to the blender and use some good stock sparingly so it will not be too thin. do not add salt. baby's do not need salt and it upsets their tummys somethang fierce. No spices either!
