Considering the fact that anything claimed to be older than that cannot be used as evidence since I was not there to verify its origin.

Can you verify that you have a mother and she exists? That would make her older than you, therefore making the earth older than 26.

I am 56 years old... I can say that the earth has been here as long as I have... King tut is appoximately 3350 as proof of his body exists.. so one can theorize that he also had to have had the earth beneath his feet... and anyone saying that the earth is just a few years old... or just a few thousand year old I would call a fool.... heaven on the other hand I beleive never existed ... but the earth beneath my feet I can at least know it exists today

how about carbon dating? It's not claiming to be older. Same with people who are over 26 years old.

The earth is only 22 years old. All your memories prior to that were planted in your head by aliens.
The world came into being the second I was born and will cease to exist the second I die. Sorry you had to find out this way.

It's actually only 23 years old. The Flying Spaghetti Monster created everything then, along with false memories planted in anybody who thinks they're older than that, history books, artifacts, etc. And he also went out of his way to make the planet look billions of years old in every detail.
