My 15 year old daughter wants to go to Cedar Point with her 18 year old boyfriend (in college) and his parents that are crazy. We live in Michigan, so they'd be going out of state to Ohio.

Her boyfriend and his parents called my daughter a ***** numerous times and they've been going out for 1 1/2 years.

I'm right to not let her go right?

Also, she'll be 16 in February and he just turned 18 this past week and that's when they started calling her a b**** when at first they wanted her at his birthday party and then on the day of it, they changed their mind and went all crazy again. Eveywhere they go, its supervised or the doors wide opened.

Just to let you people know who think I'm 14, this is my youngest daughter's account, she is 14.

I asked her if I could use it to ask a simple question.

NOOOOOO way would I let her. I wouldn't let him be her boyfriend, either, though.

You're right.

can you say statutory rape? The age of consent in Texas is 17 {Texas Penal Code Section 21.11}. However , "...It is an affirmative defense to prosecution under this section that the actor...was not more than three years older than the victim and of the opposite sex...(and) did not use duress, force, or a threat against the victim at the time of the offence" and is not a registered sex offender {Section 21.11(b)}. Section 21.12 further prohibits all sexual contact between an employee of a school (including educators)and a student enrolled at the primary or secondary school where said employee works. No age is specified by the statute (thus, even if the student has reached consent age of 17, it is still a violation), and violations are a second degree felony. ''Not all boys are heartless, sex-searching jerks ou know. A lot of them have to same views i do about intimacy.'' yeah and age 15 you know EVERYTHING about guys. All I know is, that when I was 18, I was not looking for a highschool girl to date, I was looking forward to college and started dating the girl who is now my fiancee. So when I hear about an 18 year old kid intrested in a 15 year old, all I see is him wanting sex.

First of all, she was too young to be dating anyway, let alone dating a boy who was about 16 and she was 13 or 14. That was not allowed in my house when my kids were younger.

Secondly, she is still too young to be dating an 18 yr old. And NO WAY would I let her go out of state to be with him--even if it's just a day trip.
And you say he and his parents call her derogatory names??? And you feel they are crazy ??
You are not doing your job as a parent if you let her even see him at all anymore. He and his parents do not respect her and you should be teaching her that she deserves better than that.
STOP trying to be her friend and be her mother. You can be friends when she is an adult and your job raising her to be safe and to make good choices is done.

Girl your only 14 why are you pretending to be the parent. However to answer your question. NO a 15 yr old (or 14 in your case) would NOT have an 18 yr old boyfriend in my home I'd knock the snot out of the boy. If you were a parent your not being a very good parent letting a girl so young date a boy so much older then her.

Im not a parent. but im gonna give you my answer. 1.an 18 yr old is too old for a 15 year old because the boyfriend can easily go to jail for statutory rape(sorry dont mean to scare you) 2.its not safe anywhere these days only God knows what the 18 yr old is capable of. so just my opinion from 1 human to another is No i wouldnt let my daughter go

The further away from them the better. But even if they were the nicest people around, that is too young to travel so far with a boyfriend.
He should be scared by the case of the boy doing prison time for having sex with an underage girl when he was 17 and she was 15.
I hope he's staying there for college and will forget her. She's better off without him.

My 15 yr old daughter would not have an 18 yr old boyfriend and she certainly wouldnt have been 14 dating a 17 yr old. Get that child on Birth control you know they are having sex. As for not letting her go I agree with you, you do NOT need our opinions.

This is a joke right? If not, you are out of your mind. I wouldn’t let my daughter go to the end of the block with these fools, let alone go out of town. If you are acknowledging that his parents are crazy and they call (including the boyfriend) call her names, then why would you have to ask us? You already know the answer. If you let her go you might as well let her move out, because that will be the next question.

She may hate you for a while but i would not let her go if that was my daughter...she may end up pregnant!! His parents do sound looney and you are using your gut to tell you it's not right so i agree with you and not letting her go! FYI...she should not even be dating a 18 year old adult!!! Why was she even dating at 13 and a half? Have some boundaries please or you are going to end up with a grandchild to a teen mother

What scenario on the face of the planet would EVER make it okay for a 15 year old to go out of state with an adult 18 year old?

Not only is it illegal without your EXPRESSED permission, its also statutory rape for her to be with an 18 year old. The only time its different is when theres only a 1-2 year age difference and they were dating before he turned 18, but thats only something they take into consideration BEFORE filing charges.

Have some balls.

she started dating at 13-1/2....dating a 16-1/2 year old?
Are you NUTS?????
And now........ he is 18 (In college) , and he is still dating her.

HE is a social LOSER, and pervert.

Do not let her go "out of state", or anywhere else with him.
Tough if she does not like it, she will get over it.
And check the laws in Michigan for statutory rape laws.....
might be the best way to separtate the social misfit from your daughter until she is 18.

Good Luck, and you instincts...that told you to NOT let her go, are good ones. He is a loser with capital letters.
