I'm not quite sure what your asking, but I will say that revolvers are more reliable that semi automatics. You also have to consider the condition of the ammunition.

The use of hand held speed guns have been upheld by the court. They must be calibrated on a regular basis so that there is no doubt of their accuracy and reliability in court. So, yes, what they read, goes. For further information, contact your local police department.

i see you have an answer from an ex police officer whose going on about handguns!maybe that's why he is an ex policeman, anyway,in answer to the question, all speed recording devices be it hand held or otherwise in use on the day in question have to be calibrated on that day and certificated to that effect,if the certificate has been issued then you can assume that its going to be entered into any proceedings that follow, you have the right to ask for and be given a copy of any such certificate,

Yes they are very reliable sense they are proven science.
As far as the second part, not sure what you mean. If the unit is calibrated correctly, and the officer is trained, then yes it is accurate.
I'm talking about radar and laser units.

Yes. They are on a calibration schedule. If the unit has been calibrated within this time, it is going to be upheld.
