you have to pull back on the slide....and the pin that closes the slide after reloading needs to come out...u pull the slide back about halfway and use a little screw driver and poke it on the other side till it falls thru and then slide the slide forward and it comes right off...there may even be marks on the slide and pistol handel where the slide needs to be exactly for that pin to be pushed out....

Here's the manual that shows how. LEARN IT!!!

Also, always TRIPLE check that the pistol is unloaded and clear before attempting this. THREE times, OK? You would be surprised how many times this routine will save you your life or a loved one.
