I'd have to go with

1). The Heavenly Man by Paul Hattaway
2). Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis
3). Prophets and the Prophetic Ministry by Dr. Bill Hamon
4). The Beginer's Guide to the Gift of Prophecy by Jack Deere
5). When Heaven Invades Earth by Bill Johnson

What would you recommend?

Oh I LOVE The Heavenly man!!!! I've read four of your other ones too (and some others by Jack Deere, but not that one specifically, and they are all great!).

Here are mine:

1) Rees Howells: Intercessor by Norman Grubb --- this is the most INCREDIBLE missionary biography! I felt the wind of the Holy Spirit sweep over my heart after like the first two paragraphs!

2) The Kneeling Christian by Unknown Christian - this is an incredible call to prayer! It is incredibly simple but so sober and lovely!

3) The Fight - John White - this is a *fabulous* 'intro' or refresher course. All of John White's books are fabulous. He has great books on the moves of the Holy Spirit, prayer, sexuality, etc. He is dead now but he had such insight!

4) Humility - Andrew Murray. This book is incredible! All of Andrew Murrays books are so good. I think that we *really* lose out when we choose only to read new books. It really keeps us grounded to get away from our current theological 'emphases' and see what other believers from other times thought.

5) The Final Quest by Rick Joyner. I really loved this --- it gave me *so* much insight into the character of the Lord. Your reading list makes it sound like we have much in common. I would *really* recommend this one to you!

I could name dozens more, maybe hundreds but these five are great!

Edit to add: Praying God's Word by Beth Moore. I know this should have been a simple concept, but I seriously did not know how honored the Lord is when we pray His Word back to Him until I read this! And I didn't know that this solves the problem of how to praise Him! (just look at the Psalms, der!) This book was a revelation to me.

So long a one of The True Christian Faith strives honestly to seek God's Word and Will for them... then they are free to read whatever they wish.... those of The faith know that when they do come on to something in their reading that is against God's Word and Will for them... they will leave the garbage alone..... I only know some of #2 from my time before becoming of The Faith.... the titles of the other 4 would seem to indicate that they would not be of interest to one of The True Christian Faith... I would not be curious enough to look into them...

I would recomend to a Christian to read the novel A stranger in a Strange Land.... and to watch the tv series Stargate SG1... it is good to know what the enemies of The Faith are up to and learn how to recognise their deceptions...
